Dance dance party party

This sounds like a lot of fun. Basically, women get together, someone brings an hour and a half of dance music, and everyone just dances. The three rules are 'no boys, no booze and no judgement'.

And they make a seriously big deal of the “no judgment” part, making it clear that if you even look like you’re judging someone else, you’ll be out on your ass. Nice!

...There’s also a fourth rule they don’t mention on the website: No talking. Naturally, when I first heard this, I panicked. WHY DON’T YOU JUST ASK ME NOT TO BREATHE FOR 90 MINUTES? But once we got started, I realized how brilliant that rule is. If I’d been allowed to talk, I would have spent the first ten minutes giggling nervously...


This would be so much fun! I loved to go out dancing and would love to do it again. It's a high, it really is.

Apparently there *is* one here, but from what I can figure out it costs $12 per class. That's way too steep for me. If it was $5 I would go for it.

I'm going to email the place that hosts it and find out for sure. :)

~E~ Remember a post or two ago where I described the crazy overtime weekend trying to get green card applications in before the deadline? And how the government backed out and declared that they wouldn't accept any of the applications? Apparently there has been so much pressure from so many directions that they backed off from THAT decision and accepted everything they had received, and will accept all applications until August 17. Yarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

~E~ Pirate pants complete! I'm sewing and I'm happy! I'm working on pirate costumes for myself and for Daughter for Halloween and I'm on fire . I'm not a super seamstress, but I can get the job done if the instructions are clear. My methods might be laughed at by a professional but I enjoy what I do and I've made some pretty awesome things, I have to say. Ichiban Son got a kick-ass Green Power Ranger costume for kindergarten that took me probably 60 hours to make but it was totally worth it - I impressed myself and everyone else who saw it. Daughter got a harem costume one year, and a gypsy/pirate queen costume the next. Another of my favorites is a kilt I made from red bandannas; it was for a party with a scottish/cowby theme. I went online to look at kilt patterns and then just made it up as I went along. It was awesome, the pleats were f*ing amazing, but no one else was as excited about it as I was. haha. They sucked. ~E~ It is the new catch phrase for the Blizzard family. It translates as "cricket being", which captures my fancy. Now I want to learn Dutch. Spanish, French and Irish: Grillo = cricket Grillon = cricket Cruicéad = cricket I still think krekel beats them all.
